LAW OFFICE OF JOSEPH ANDREWS - FIRST STATE LAW

COMMITMENT. INNOVATION. RESULTS.

Since its founding in 2013, we have represented employers, insurers and third-party administrators in Delaware workmen’s compensation matters with an emphasis on practical strategy, careful preparation and measurable results. We handle routine claims efficiently, but difficult claims are where we distinguish ourselves.
Our experience includes complex compensability disputes, fraud, employer and insurance disputes, catastrophic exposure, subrogation, reimbursement, medical-payment issues, appeals and unusual statutory proceedings. We approach each matter by identifying the issues that actually drive exposure, developing the evidence needed to address them and pursuing the most effective path toward resolution.
Our results are not simply marketing claims. Many of the firm’s litigated matters are documented in published decisions, which are available on our Results page.
Our goal is straightforward: Identify the real source of exposure early, develop the evidence necessary to address it and resolve the claim in the manner that best protects the client’s legal and financial interests.
We represent employers, insurance carriers and third-party administrators in Delaware workmen’s compensation matters at every stage of a claim, from initial investigation and claim strategy through Industrial Accident Board litigation, appeals and post-award issues.
Our practice includes compensability and causation disputes, total and partial disability, permanent impairment, disfigurement, medical treatment and billing issues, recurrence claims, petitions to review, fraud, subrogation, reimbursement, employer and insurance disputes and catastrophic-loss exposure. We also handle unusual matters involving difficult statutory or procedural issues where an ordinary claims approach may not provide the best solution.
We also represent businesses and individuals in select commercial disputes involving contracts, business ownership, fiduciary obligations, equitable remedies, injunctions, mechanic’s liens, debt collection and trademark matters.
These cases often require more than a conventional damages claim. When appropriate, we pursue or defend declaratory relief, specific performance, injunctions and other equitable remedies designed to protect property, contractual rights and ongoing business interests.
We accept these matters selectively, with an emphasis on cases involving significant financial exposure, unusual legal issues or circumstances requiring careful factual and strategic analysis.
